Course Work
I've been teaching for decades and have always utilized the latest technology, tools, and techniques to help my students learn. Here are just a few examples of that work.
You'll see elements from experiential education, adventure education, problem-based learning, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning experiences.
In both teaching and instructional design work I've used many platforms, learning management systems, and content management systems including Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Sakai, D2L, and others. |

This visual walkthrough (no audio) was created in 2009 as my final portfolio for the Online Teaching Certification from OLC (the Online Learning Consortium). It shows the "History of Mathematics" course that I designed, developed, and taught for Virginia State University. This course was created in the Blackboard LMS and most of the interactive elements were hardcoded by me in HTML.

This technology demonstration was created in 2012 and describes how to use the TI-84+ graphing calculator to enter & edit lists of data, graphically display that data, and create & use functions of best fit to predict future data based on the model found. I used the TI-84+ emulator software for the demonstration.

Aviation Mathematics
The slideshow and PowerPoint presentation are from a hands-on, collaborative, STEM activity called the "Airplane Project" that I did with my students at the University of Trinidad & Tobago. The animated gif was created from an interactive graphic created using the Geometer's Sketchpad. These assets were created in 2017. UTT uses the Canvas LMS.

Photo Gallery
These photos are some I've taken of my students in action over the years (well, except the ones that have me in them, someone else took those!). Hover your mouse over the image to see a caption that tells you a bit about what was going on in that scene. Some images are linked to related blog posts. You'll see pictures of my pre-service and in-service students from college and graduate school, high school students, students from my time as a Fulbright Scholar to Rwanda, and professional development workshops I've taught for K-12 teachers.
