Diana S. Perdue, PhD
Instructional Designer / Educator / Developer

My Story

Instructional Design & eLearning / 2025
I'm a teacher. That's been my identity since high school, when my friends would come to me for help with Algebra or Calculus. There's just no better experience than seeing that light bulb go on for someone, when something clicks for the first time and understanding is attained. It's magical.

During my career in teaching, I was always interested in innovation, creativity, and finding new tools & techniques to help my students learn. That desire led to educational technology and instructional design.

Now, I combine my teacher identity with a learning lens to design, develop, and create effective educational experiences that engage.
Learners don’t need to know things, they need to do things.”
pg. 99 “The Elearning Designer’s Handbook”by Tim Slade, 2020, 2nd ed.

Please take a look around my portfolio to learn a bit more about me, to see examples of my work & feedback I've received, and to find ways to connect with me.

Just a note that images used in this site are my own (like the banner image of my home office setup, this purple flower, and the bridge over the river scene as the background in the badges section). My Mom trained as a professional photographer and it was always just part of my experiences growing up. I love how impactful an image can be and strive to think carefully about visual aspects of design when I create learning experiences.

I snapped this little purple flower on a 2023 trip to Santa Rosa Lake (NM). Amazing to see such beauty in a harsh environment!
